Birds in Flight
I have always wanted to capture moments of Birds flying. I would look at the pictures in NGC of the majestic birds soaring with their wings spread wide open or of bird landing or taking off and it would not fail to enchant me.
While i am still nowhere near capturing the soaring beauties in mid-air, i hope, i got of to a start at least with the photos below. These were taken at Ranganathittu, which arguably provides the best opportunity to capture birds for any enthusiast.

Birds of different feather flock together!
Ranganathittu
I think this picture captures Ranganathittu in a frame! Small area but occupied by unique variety of birds (and crocodiles!)
If any of you haven't visited this place, i highly recommend you do. It is just off Srirangapatnam, 120 km from Bangalore. The sanctuary is home to a large variety of birds and due to the density of the bird population, you can always find various birds flying and zipping around. The place is specially a sight to behold during the nesting season. Wasn't lucky enough to catch the season this time around. Definitely have to do a revisit in November!

Sunset at the Pier
Backwaters of Ennore
Thalankuppam is a small fishing hamlet, at the extreme north of Madras city. A river - called variously the Kourtaliayaar, Mogathwaram, Thalankuppam - meets the sea here, at Thalankuppam. At dusk you see hordes of boats taking off into the backwaters. A really nice feeling to be standing on the bridge, going into the sea, and looking back onto the backwaters.

When the Skies open up
Leading light
Paintbrush from Heaven
What made Phuket so scenic at this time of the year, was the contrasting plays of sunshine and cloudy weather all the time. One moment you are in the middle of rainstorms and in an hour its beautiful tropical sun shining on you. In between these Power plays is when you get to see contrasting colors all across you. The dark blue see to the light green waters, the peachy shorlines against the dark green mountains.
The pictures here don't even come close to capturing the beauty of the place. Maybe i will be better equipped the next time i go here and maybe, i can get back with postcard pictures.

Yellow Fellow
An Ocean to explore!
These were taken on the way to Phi-Phi islands. The coast of Phuket in Thailand is dotted with more than 200 'islands', with many note measring more than 4 KM in length. But all of them raise out of the sea lke Giants, each with unique shapes and sizes.
These small islets provide lots of opportunities to explore, either by Speed Boats or Kayaks.
